Description

This is page two of three of my free pattern for my Amaterasu Okami doll. To see what the finished doll looks like, go here [link]
For page one: [link]
For page two: [link]

This pattern is for non-profit, personal use only. You may use my pattern, but you must link back to this page when you post the finished doll.

Instructions
1. Cut out two Half-backs. Sew the top of the half-backs together. Do not sew front or back together.
2. Cut out eight swirls. Sew them together, so that you have four swirls (If you are using felt or another thick fabric, you may chose to only cut out four and not sew them together. It is up to you.) At this point, you may add Amaterasu's swirly details. See my gallery for a close-up.
3. Cut out four big swirls. Sew them together so you have two. Add details. Stuff all swirls.
4. Cut out four Inside of leg and four Bottom of foot. Sew one long edge of Inside of leg to the front side ofone of the flaps from the half-back. Make sure the slanted, short edges will meet up. Then, sew the bottom of the foot onto the bottom of the leg. If you choose, you may insert small pieces of fabric for nails. Sew them pointing inwards, so that when you turn it inside out, they will point outwards.
5. Sew up the back seam of the legs. When you sew it up, insert the swirls around the ankle area. Again, point them inwards so what when it is turned inside out, they will be on the outside.(Note: Double-check to make sure they will face the right way when turned inside out. I messed up three times on this part.)
6. On the two front legs, insert the big swirls towards the top of the leg, using the same method as for the big swirls. Sew all the way up the long edge of the leg, so that it is round with an opening on top.
7. Cut out two tails, sew together, leaving the part that connects to the body open. Add details with acrylic paint or fabric marker, then stuff.
8. Cut out four ears. Sew together, so that you have tow ears. If using a thick fabric, you may not need to sew two pieces together.
9. Cut out two half of back of head. Sew the long, straight edge together.
10. Cut out two half head side and one top top of head. Sew the top of head to the top part of the side of head. Sew this onto the two half of back of head. The bottom part should be left open.
11. Cut out one bottom of head and one inside of mouth. Sew bottom of head to bottom of the two half sides of head. Do not connect the bottom to the back of the head. Then, sew the inside of mouth into that open, mouth-like area. At this point you can sew up the nose area. Sew the ears on wherever you please. Now, you should have a wolf head with an opening at the bottom, where it connects to the body.
12. Sew the flat part of the back of head to the front part of the half-backs. The seams down the middle of the back and the middle of the back of the head should line up.
13. Cut out one belly. sew the front part of the belly to the bottom of the head. Then, sew the sides of the belly to the bottom part of the backs. When you get to the legs, sew along the inside of the leg. Stop when you get to the back part of the back.
14. Sew the tail onto the top part of the back. Now is the time to stuff the doll.
15. Sew the belly up the rest of the way on the back. Now, you can add the red details and eyes however you wish. I used fabric marker.

I hope these directions make sense. If they don't, please feel free to ask questions. I will do my best to help you. And please, enjoy your very own Amaterasu doll!
